About the Photographs All the photographs presented on wwii.co.uk are taken from original photographic prints which are owned by the author of wwii.co.uk. In the instance that a photograph is from another source it is credited on the relevant page. The majority are either press photos taken for various press agencies throughout the war, or from collections taken by soldiers who took a camera to war, and documented their time in the service. However I may include on occasion images taken from original period books, magazines or other printed matter, in this case they will be credited as such. As some of the photographs are from press agencies they may appear in other sources and may be well know to you. However those that appear on wwii.co.uk are all scanned from original prints in my collection. Some never being published before, and possibly these are the only surviving prints of the photographs. If you wish to use any of the images on the site please can you maintain a credit to thier or the source namely wwii.co.uk, I would also appreciate if you could send mean email to info@wwii.co.uk asking permission for there use, permission will nearly always be given, it simply lets me know where the images are being used. Please note these images may be subject to invisible digital watermarking to aid tractability and ownership information. If you wish to reprint any of the photographs in any printed matter (book, magazine etc) again please contact me and I will be able to arrange to supply a higher quality scan for print purposes. |
If you would like to contribute
to wwii.co.uk and you have original copies of photographs from the
period
I would be happy to host them on the site where I will credit the
owner and include any description along with the image. Please submit
any photographs as scanned .jpg or .tiff files scanned at 300 dpi in
an unprocessed raw state. I will put them through Photoshop® and
resize to the required dimensions for the site. To submit photographs

As I continue to acquire additional material I will be putting them up on this site along with any known information about what they depict. If you wish to add or contribute to the descriptions alongside each photograph or wish to report an error or correction please email: info@wwii.co.uk stating the image and where possible a page URL.
